Bae Doona Returns With New Mystery Film ‘The Next Sohee’ + Actress To Play as Cold-headed Detective
After her consistent appearances on Netflix's original series, this time, Bae Doona is meeting viewers on the big screen for her new movie "The Next Sohee."
'The Next Sohee' Starring Bae Doona Wraps Up Filming
Bae Doona's next movie "The Next Sohee" officially ended filming production.
The new mystery-thriller film depicts the story of a high school student named Sohee and a female detective named Yoojin. Set in a call center company, Sohee starts her training while Yoojin becomes suspicious of the company's hidden agenda.
Reports also stated this is a reunion project of Bae Doona and the movies' director July Jung. The two collaborated on Mr. Jung's award-winning debut feature film "A Girl at My Door." The movie then screened in 2014 Cannes Film Festival in the UN Certain Regard section.
In the new stills, Bae Doona transformed into a cool and determined detective, in charge of investigating Sohee's case. Yoojin, a sharp observer who is firm in her convictions, starts to have her suspicions on a case involving Sohee.
Meanwhile, apart from the photos, the movie's lead star Bae Doona shared her thoughts on her upcoming show. The "Kingdom" actress said that she was happy and enjoyed filming "The Next Sohee." She also felt sad since the shooting is finally over.

She went on and said she felt relieved that the cast and crew of "The Next Sohee" wrapped up filming without any problems. The actress added that she was happy to meet great people on set.
Furthermore, director Jung July also showed his gratitude for working with such talented individuals. He said, "I am thankful to the cast and crew, who showed all of their support and energy into this new film."
"The Next Sohee" is said to premiere by the end of 2022.

On the other hand, Bae Doona dominated Netflix through her various works such as "Kingdom," "Stranger 2," and her latest "The Silent Sea," where she also teamed up with numerous talented actors namely Gong Yoo, Lee Joon, Ju Ji Hyun, Kim Sun Young, Lee Sung Wook, and more.

Apart from "The Next Sohee," Bae Doona is also making another sci-fi movie "Rebel Moon," alongside Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, and Charlie Hunnam. The filming production is said to start in April and will last until November of 2022.
Further, Bae Doona is also working on the movie "Broker" where she will star alongside "Hotel Del Luna's" actress IU, "Parasite" actor Song Kang Ho, and "Peninsula" star Gang Dong Won. It will be helmed by Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda.
