'Reborn Rich' Synopsis

"Reborn Rich" is a fantasy series that revolves around Yoon Hyun Woo, a faithful secretary to a chaebol family. He dies after being falsely accused of embezzlement by the family he had been loyal to.

Meanwhile, he was reborn in 1987 and became the chaebol family's youngest son, Jin Do Joon. Through this opportunity, he meticulously plots the move he'll have to do as revenge on the clan who betrayed him.

Song Joong Ki Proves His Power For Setting New Record in JTBC's History

Viewers marked their calendars as Song Joong Ki finally made his return to the K-drama scene last November 18 with "Reborn Rich." With its jam-packed pilot week, the series already made a new record in JTBC's history.

"Reborn Rich" kicked off with an impressive start. According to Nielsen Korea, the drama's first episode recorded an average viewership rating of 6.1 percent nationwide. This also became the series ticket as it set a new JTBC record for the highest drama premiere ratings this 2022.

In addition, Song Joong Ki's revenge drama achieved the second-highest premiere ratings of any JTBC drama, which bested only in 2020 with the smashing hit series "The World of the Married." The famous drama aired two years ago scored an average rating of 6.3 percent nationwide, which was close to the "Reborn Rich" episode 1 result.

Furthermore, "Reborn Rich" airs three times a week and occupies the 10:30 p.m. slot every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on JTBC.

'Fanletter, Please' & 'The First Responders' Score New Records

Meanwhile, ongoing dramas also made improvements in their ratings. MBC's newly released series "Fanletter, Please" starring SNSD's Sooyoung and Yoon Bak received an average rating of 2.0 percent.

Another new drama, "The First Responders," which airs on SBS on the same day and time as "Fanletter, Please," was able to have a significant rise in viewership on its second episode. The mentioned action-thriller series, which stars Kim Rae Won, Gong Seung Yeon, and Son Ho Jun achieved a nationwide rating of 9.4 percent for its previous episode.

Song Joong Ki Films Silver Screen Comeback 'Hwaran'

Apart from the support he receives from fans with his dramas, Song Joong Ki also gained more support and inspiration through his movies. In fact, he is currently working on his upcoming film, "Hwaran," where he will share the frame with singer-songwriter BIBI. This will also be the female singer's acting debut.
