‘Reborn Rich’ & ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella’ Climb to Highest Ratings Yet
"Reborn Rich," which stars Song Joong Ki, and the historical K-drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella" led by Kim Hye Soo show no signs of slowing down. Both dramas soared to their new all-time high, showing dominance in primetime TV.
'Reborn Rich' Viewership Maintains Perfect Streak in Viewership Rating
After garnering a double-digit viewership on its second episode, Song Joong Ki's drama "Reborn Rich" garnered an average nationwide rating of 14.9 percent for its 6th episode.
In addition, Nielsen Korea also cited that the series achieved its new all-time high for the season.
It can be recalled that the revenge series scored the second-highest debut ratings of any drama in the history of JTBC. Despite the controversy, "Reborn Rich" proved its reign with soaring viewership in every episode.
The drama is based on the web novel "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate" where Song Joong Ki plays Yoon Hyun Woo, a Soonyang Group employee who, despite his loyalty, was murdered by one of the company's officials. However, he was reincarnated as the third-generation chaebol and the youngest grandson of Soonyang Group founder, Jin Yang Chul, played by Lee Sung Min.

"Reborn Rich'' also features the fearless Prosecutor, Seo Min Young, played by Shin Hyun Bin. She is known to be the Soonyang Group's grim reaper as the prosecutor is determined to expose the illegal activities of the conglomerate.
Interestingly, "Reborn Rich," which airs thrice a week, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, will broadcast its seventh episode on December 3 via JTBC while subtitles are available through ViuTV and Viki.
'Under the Queen's Umbrella' Goes Head-to-Head with Song Joong Ki's 'Reborn Rich'
Apart from the JTBC series, Kim Hye Soo's drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella" is also among the most-watched series over the weekend.
It came after Neilsen Korea cited that the historical K-drama climbed to an average nationwide rating of 14.1 percent.
With this, "Under the Queen's Umbrella" episode 14 hit an all-time high, making its new personal record for the season.
Interestingly, with only one week left before the finale, the tvN series continues to land a perfect streak with increasing ratings per episode.
The drama depicts the story of a fearless Queen named Im Hwa Ryung (Kim Hye Soo) who will do whatever it takes to protect her sons against ambitious and greedy influential people inside the palace.
"Under the Queen's Umbrella" also showcases Kim Hye Soo's intense battle with veteran actress Kim Hae Sook as she plays the King's mother, Queen Dowager Cho.
