Hyun Bin has won over the hearts of the Japanese people after he portrayed the role of Captain Ri in his blockbuster series "Crash Landing On You."

However, rumors about the actor's decreasing popularity in the said country have been circulating since early 2022. This December, Hyun Bin is now suspected to be "blacklisted" in Japan.

In November, Hyun Bin and his wife-his "Crash Landing On You" leading lady-Son Ye Jin gave birth to their first son. The actor who was supposedly filming "Harbin" in Mongolia has stayed by his wife's side during childbirth.

While Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin delivered great news to fans, the actor is caught up in rumors and suspicions that Hyun Bin is treated coldly by the Japanese entertainment industry.

According to reports, Japanese companies that used to adore Hyun Bin now changed their minds about him after he was confirmed to appear in the film "Harbin," which tackles South Korea's uprising against the Japanese colonizers.

Hyun Bin's agency, VAST Entertainment, appeased the fans' worries and released an official statement. They said, "We are monitoring the current situation but so far, we don't see any changes in the Japanese market.

While there are a lot of rumors, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, who decorated the screen with romance through "Crash Landing On You," continue to be Japan's top celebrities.

Hyun Bin To Make Silver Screen Comeback With 'Harbin'

After the success of his 2022 film "Confidential Assignment 2: International," Hyun Bin is now gearing up for his much anticipated return to the big screen!

In his upcoming historical movie "Harbin," Hyun Bin transforms into the role of Ahn Jung Geun, a lieutenant general of the Korean Army who plans to wage war against the Japanese colonizers to achieve Korean independence.

Last November, Hyun Bin attended an event held at Ahn Jung Eun Memorial Hall. He raised fans' excitement by saying, "To portray Ahn Jung Eun is an honor not only to me but to my country. My heart is still pounding. I promise to do my best with the production team and cast."

Filming began in late November and the shooting locations of the film include South Korea, Mongolia and Latvia, which guarantee a picturesque cinematography. "Harbin" is expected to hit the big screen in the early half of 2023.
