'Crash Course in Romance' Faces Controversy

Netflix released the much-awaited K-drama "Crash Course in Romance" last January 14. Starring brilliant stars Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Do Yeon, the series already achieved high ratings with its pilot week.

However, ahead of its second week of release, the show is already facing controversy involving the star lecturer Hyun Woo Jin.

On January 14, Math instructor Hyun Woo Jin encouraged viewers to watch the series but was angered by fake news. The following day, a Twitter user commented on Hyun Woo Jin's publicity of "Crash Course in Romance."

According to a report, the user said, "Hyun Woo Jin advised me. But the funny thing is when the production team first asked for advice, he said he wouldn't do it. But when it was confirmed that Jung Kyung Ho will play the lead role, he changed his mind and gave consultation for the drama."

In addition to the comment. The main character of the drama, Choi Chi Yeol, played by Jung Kyung Ho, is called "the man of 1 trillion won." After releasing the episode, some said that Choi Chi Yeol reminded them of Hyun Woo Jin, one of the leading instructors in the mathematics section of the "Mega Study."

Mr. Hyun denied the allegations and said to file complaints for false statements and opinions.

tvN Responds To Rumors Surrounding 'Crash Course in Romance'

On January 17, tvN responded to the news related to Mr. Hyun.

According to an official from the broadcasting company, the drama received various consultations at the stage of writing the script before the production, such as casting and filming before finalizing everything.

In addition, the team interviewed several academy officials and instructors and received help. The official confirmed that Teacher Hyun Woo Jin helped despite his busy schedule.

However, he refuted that the rumors are not true. The drama's production team said, "The story that is being raised in some places has nothing to do with the production team. It is groundless."

Meanwhile, you can watch Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Do Yeon every Saturday and Sunday on "Crash Course in Romance" on Netflix and tvN.
