Kim Tae Hee Responds to Investigation Conducted by National Tax Service
Kim Tae Hee's agency clarifies the actress' involvement in the tax collection report by the National Tax Service.
As obtained by a media outlet, the Hallyu star has undergone rigorous auditing regarding the taxable income that the actress filed for 2022. Based on the investigation, officials have concluded that Kim Tae Hee is required to huge tax fees amounting to 100 million KRW.
Kim Tae Hee's Tax Issue Investigated by National Tax Service
Amid the tax issue, Kim Tae Hee's agency, Story J Company, addressed the news pertaining to the actress' taxes.
As noted by the same outlet, the "Hi, Bye Mama" star "has faithfully taken care of tax issues and paid taxes faithfully in accordance with the laws of the tax authorities" over the past few years.
Moreover, the label also pointed out that the celebrity mom abides by the "regulations drawn up by the national tax service and paid all required taxes on time."
However, Story J Company mentioned the possible reason behind the setback, which includes her transfer from her previous company to her current label.
Although both parties diligently updated all her due tax payments, "her former agency treated the revenues from Kim Tae Hee's [advertisement] deals as Kim Tae Hee's sole revenue," Story J Company clarified.
The internal conflict might be the reason for the "delay in the reporting of these earnings."

Lastly, Kim Tae Hee's agency concluded its official statement by emphasizing that "no disgraceful activities took place during the auditing process." Instead, the "Stairway to Heaven" star "was required to pay additional taxes."
This is not the first time that Kim Tae Hee has been involved in tax issues. Back in 2020, she was among the South Korean stars investigated by the National Tax Service regarding evasion of real estate properties.
At the time, top stars like Lee Byung Hun, Han Hyo Joo, Kwon Sang Woo, and RAIN's wife were caught up in issues focusing on evading taxes using loopholes in the system.
