Kim So Yeon Talks About Her Cameo in ‘Taxi Driver 2’ + Will She Join Cast Lineup for Season 3?
Kim So Yeon shared her thoughts about having a special appearance in "Taxi Driver 2," as Lee Je Hoon's drama wrapped up the season.
Viewers were thrilled to see the award-winning actress join the Rainbow Taxi team during the finale episode.
Prior to her appearance, SBS dropped still cuts featuring the actress, with some speculating that she would be reprising her role as villain Cheon Seo Jin in "The Penthouse."
Kim So Yeon 'Honored' to Appear in 'Taxi Driver 2'
In a video released by SBS Catch, Kim So Yeon was spotted doing her scenes for the finale episode of "Taxi Driver 2."
Lee Je Hoon, who played the iconic role of Kim Do Gi, shared details regarding Kim So Yeon's cameo role.
"She came to save us," he said, adding how "happy and grateful" he is to work with the actress.
Meanwhile, Kim Eui Sung, who portrayed Blue Bird Foundation and Rainbow Taxi boss Chairman Jung, made the cast laugh after joking about Kim So Yeon's role.
"She was the number one driver, but she left because of Penthouse," he said, referring to Kim So Yeon's hit makjang series.
To recall, "The Penthouse," in which Kim So Yeon played her character for three seasons, is among the most watched SBS series, along with "Taxi Driver," as both K-dramas ended with soaring viewership ratings.
As for the award-winning actress, she managed to wrap up her scene with an amazing performance despite the cold weather.
"I am honored to have been offered the role of the number one driver and was able to act in great situations," she said, adding that she is an avid fan of "Taxi Driver" and playing a cameo role "was so meaningful and enjoyable to participate."
Moreover, she also ended the brief interview by lauding the energy on the set and dropping hints about her future projects.
"The atmosphere was so good. I will work harder to greet you with a better performance," she said.

In "Taxi Driver 2" episode 16, Kim So Yeon was introduced as the Rainbow Taxi group's first driver. The finale episode featured how she maintained her good relationship with Chairman Jung despite leaving the team.
In episode 16, the lady driver saved Kim Do Gi and the group from the attack orchestrated by the bishop, played by Park Ho San.
'Taxi Driver' Season 3 Cast
Shortly after the second season aired its final episode, SBS confirmed "Taxi Driver" season 3.
As mentioned by a media outlet, the third installment is "already in the works" and "plans to start discussions with the actors, writer, and director from now on."
With this, the "Taxi Driver" season 3 cast lineup is yet to be confirmed, if the upcoming sequel will feature the returning cast members.
Meanwhile, Kim So Yeon will have her K-drama comeback after joining the much-awaited "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938" along with Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook.
The award winning star will play the role of Ryu Hong Joo, the goddess of the mountain.
