IU was surprised to find out about an interesting detail about her boyfriend, Lee Jong Suk, and his connection with her upcoming movie "Dream."

The idol-actress returns to the big screen after the success of her movie "Broker."

In her upcoming film, IU portrays the role of producing director Lee So Min, who works alongside soccer player and coach Yoon Hong Dae, played by Park Seo Joon.

However, in an interview, the top star was surprised to learn that Lee Jong Suk was among the selected actors for the role of Yoon Hong Dae.

IU Surprised Upon Hearing News Regarding Boyfriend Lee Jong Suk

As mentioned by a media outlet, IU has no idea that Lee Jong Suk was on the list of candidates for the role of "Dream." According to the actress, it was her first time hearing the news, saying, "I just found out about it today."

When asked about her thoughts if ever Lee Jong Suk got the part, IU said that the actor would do well portraying the character.

Back in December 2022, just as people were about to welcome the new year, rumors sparked that IU and Lee Jong Suk were dating. At the time, Dispatch Korea confirmed that the two top stars were in a relationship and had been dating for four months.

The two first met in 2012 after hosting SBS' music program "Inkigayo." Since then, Lee Jong Suk and IU have maintained their friendship, which has evolved into romance.

Shortly after the news broke, Lee Jong Suk's agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed the dating rumors and said that they "recently progressed from being close acquaintances into being a couple," adding that they are "maintaining a serious relationship."

On the other hand, besides her blossoming relationship, IU is booked and busy these past years after starring in back-to-back projects.

'Dream' Release Date

As mentioned, IU will be headlining the upcoming movie that depicts the story of a soccer player who gets involved in a controversy. To redeem his image, he was offered to play the head coach of an amateur team for an annual international soccer event called the Homeless World Cup.

With Lee So Min as the producer and director, she finds an interesting story with the team and proposes to Yoon Hong Dae that she'll make a documentary featuring them.

Following the much-awaited team-up and anticipation of viewers regarding Park Seo Joon and IU's chemistry, "Dream" will hit theaters on April 26.
