Kim So Yeon talks about experiencing a slump in her career after landing her breakout role in "All About Eve."

Known as one of South Korea's versatile actresses, the award-winning actress shared her humble beginnings and revealed getting fewer projects despite starring in a hit K-drama.

Kim So Yeon appeared as guest in the recent episode of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," where she dishes on her past and current projects.

Kim So Yeon Reveals Not Receiving Offers After 'All About Eve'

Kim So Yeon made a huge revelation and told host Yoo Jae Suk about being the actress who is not bookable or who no one wants to cast.

After wrapping up the popular K-drama "All About Eve" back in 2000, she noticed getting fewer projects as she reached 24 to 25 years old.

"There came the moment when no one looked for me," she recalled, as obtained by a media outlet. Considering it a "beautiful" age for celebrities to strike while the iron is hot, Kim So Yeon was worried about not getting projects and casting offers.

Interestingly, she managed to figure out what was lacking in her and improved herself by watching other actors.

"I realized the problem, then I watched and learned from actors who challenged different genres," she said, adding, "I asked my company to allow me to audition and dreamed of making a comeback."

Following her hiatus, she made a comeback by starring in a short film that was invited to the 2007 Busan International Film Festival. The actress returned with a bang after making heads turn with her sexy red carpet look.

"It had been a while since I appeared at a public event, so I thought about preparing a pretty dress," she said, who at the time graced the ceremony with a white silk dress with cut-out details in front, showing off her abdomen.

At the time, the public saw it as "too risque" because of the revealing design.

The actress revealed what prompted her to wear the outfit on the red carpet. Initially, she thought of it as "too bold," but she still went on and owned the look.

"I confidently wore it, thinking, 'Let's make it a hot issue,' and, 'Let's show them Kim So Yeon is here again,'" she said.

Lo and behold, she made headlines with her red carpet moment, gaining mixed reactions from the public.

After this, Kim So Yeon started in another hit K-drama, "IRIS," where she ditched her signature long black hair and went to chop off her beautiful locks. She recalled getting the offer after coming to the Busan International Film Festival.

"After going through all of that, I realized how precious and grateful it is to receive a casting offer," she said, adding, "I wanted to work hard on that project, so I cut my hair and put great effort into practicing for the role."

Moreover, the actress also mentioned working out and bulking up since her character, Kim Sun Hwa, is an agent.

Kim So Yeon recalled getting injured on the set while doing her acting scenes. She ended up with torn legs and had to undergo surgery.

"On the way home, I turned around and went to the gym to exercise. I was very determined back then," she said.

Almost a decade later, Kim So Yeon stars in yet another action-fantasy series. The award-winning actress is among the lead stars of the upcoming K-drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938" with Kim Bum and Lee Dong Wook.

Set to premiere on May 6, Kim So Yeon transforms into mountain goddess Ryu Hong Joo.
