Ahn Hyo Seop Recalls How ‘Dr Romantic 3’ Cast Celebrated His Birthday: ‘It Was Unforgettable’

The South Korean heartthrob is once again swooning viewers with his role as the feisty general surgeon Seo Woo Jin in the SBS medical series. For the show's third season, the 28-year-old actor reprised his role, alongside Lee Sung Kyung who plays as Cha Eun Jae, and Han Suk Kyu as the legendary surgeon Kim Sa Bu.
Interestingly, as "Dr. Romantic 3" enjoys the success of the drama with high viewership and huge support from viewers, Ahn Hyo Seop spills more details about the series.
Ahn Hyo Seop Reveals Deal With Lee Sung Kyung
During his interview with Harper's Bazaar Korea, the "Dr. Romantic 3" star shared his agreement with co-star Lee Sung Kyung if the medical K-drama surpassed a 15 percent viewership rating.
For this season, they pledged to perform a dance if "Dr. Romantic 3" reached their target rating.
"It's not official yet, but Lee Sung Kyung and I mentioned on the radio that if it goes over 15 percent, we should dance, since we sang last time," Ahn Hyo Seop shared.
Back in 2020, the duo delighted the viewers after they fulfilled their promise.
During their appearance on SBS PowerFM's radio show "Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time," a listener suggested that they sing a duet if the viewership goes beyond 10 percent.

Interestingly, an episode in "Dr. Romantic 2" garnered 20.7 percent in viewership ratings for its two parts.
As a result, Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seop posted a sweet duet of the K-drama's OST.
Ahn Hyo Seop Shares Birthday Bash on Set of 'Dr. Romantic 3'
On April 17, Ahn Hyo Seop celebrated his birthday surrounded by his "Dr. Romantic 3" family. When asked what he did on his special day, the actor said that he was filming for the medical series.
"I was shooting a difficult scene," he said, adding that it made it an "unforgettable" moment for his birthday.
He didn't detail what happened throughout the day as he "might spoil" the viewers since it involved a significant scene in "Dr. Romantic 3" but gave hints that he "saved" people.
As for the team, Ahn Hyo Seop said that the director and all the staff greeted and congratulated him on his birthday.
"The staff decorated the room for a surprise party," he revealed, adding that fans also sent lots of gifts and letter and took time to read messages for him.
On Ahn Hyo Seop's Instagram, he shared a glimpse of his birthday on the set along with a sweet photo holding his cake.
