‘Dr Romantic 3’ Ending Hints at Season 4 After Comeback of THIS Character
Following the success of the "Dr. Romantic 3" finale, SBS hinted at the possibility of the medical K-drama returning for a sequel through a familiar character.
On June 17, the medical K-drama wrapped up the season with a new achievement after creating an all-time high in viewership. As cited by Neilsen Korea, "Dr. Romantic 3" episode 16 scored an average nationwide ending of 16.8 percent, marking the show's highest rating throughout the season run.
In addition, to maintaining its double-digit ratings, the weekend K-drama remained as the most-watched show on SBS during weekends.
Seo Hyun Jin's Appearance in 'Dr. Romantic 3' Ending Sparks Speculation for Season 4
Helmed by "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "Vagabond" director Yoo In Shik, and penned by Kang Eun Kyung of "Where Stars Land" and "Gyeongseong Creature," the medical K-drama depicts the story of a legendary surgeon named Kim Sa Bu, who was once a hotshot city doctor but chose to work in a shabby hospital in the countryside due to an incident.
For the past three seasons, the series featured a mix of returning and new characters, who delighted viewers with heartwarming stories.
From original cast members like Han Suk Kyu as Kim Sa Bu, Jin Kyung as head nurse Ms. Oh, the charming Nurse Park, played by Kim Min Jae, and anesthesiologist Nam Do Il portrayed by Byun Woo Min, to Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seop, who played Cha Eun Jae and Seo Woo Jin, the series also showcased interesting cameos.

During the "Dr. Romantic 3" ending, the viewers speculated that the medical K-drama would return with season 4 after an unexpected visitor showed up at Doldam.
A woman arrived with a suitcase that included details like her name.
Interestingly, it was Dr. Yoon Seo Jung, played by Seo Hyun Jin, who starred in season 1.
To recall, Dr. Kang Dong Joo, played by Yoo Yeon Seok, appeared in the second half of the medical K-drama as the interim head of the Trauma Center.
In one of the episodes, he said that he would be inviting skilled doctors to join him at the Trauma Center.
However, during the "Dr. Romantic 3" ending, Seo Hyun Jin's character made a shocking cameo, sparking the possibility of season 4.
Is 'Dr. Romantic 4' Possible?
As of this writing, there's no confirmation yet from SBS officials. However, viewers are thrilled to see the reunion of Dr. Kang and Dr. Yoo, as well as the expectations of viewers in "Dr. Romantic" season 4.
Apart from it, fans are also excited about the working relationship of season 1 characters with Cha Eun Jae and Seo Woo Jin.
