SBS teased viewers with an update regarding the three main cast of the upcoming K-drama "National Death Penalty Vote." Over the broadcast network's official Instagram, SBS introduced the lead stars of the webtoon-based series.

'National Death Penalty Vote' Stars K-drama Villains + Announces Release Date

In a post, the network introduced Lim Ji Yeon, Park Sung Woong, and Park Hae Jin who will headline the soon-to-be released K-drama "National Death Penalty Vote."

Raising curiosity among viewers, SBS also announced the release date of the highly-anticipated series.

According to the post, "National Death Penalty Vote" will premiere on August 10 at 9 p.m. KST.

Airing every Thursday, SBS will only broadcast it once a week.

Interestingly, fans expressed their excitement in the comments section, noting how they miss seeing Park Hae Jin in K-dramas.

Mowever, viewers are looking forward to seeing the chemistry of the trio, especially Lim Ji Yeon and Park Sung Woong, who recently starred as K-drama villains.

What To Expect in 'National Death Penalty Vote'

Helmed by "Suicide Girl" and "White Night" director Park Shin Woo, "National Death Penalty Vote" is based on the webtoon that depicts the story of a mysterious figure, known as Gaetal. He has his own way of executing the crime by conducting a survey through text message and will decide whether to put certain vicious criminals to death. His next move is based on the results.

Park Hae Jin and Lim Ji Yeon take on the roles of police officers Kim Moo Chan and Joo Hyun, while Park Sung Woong plays Kwon Seok Joo, an inmate who was convicted of murdering the rapist of his 8-year-old daughter.

Interestingly, this is Park Hae Jin's return since the 2022 rom-com fantasy K-drama "From Now On, Showtime!"

On the other hand, Lim Ji Yeon and Park Sung Woong recently played villain roles in "The Glory" and "Bloodhounds," respectively.

The 32-year-old actress had her second heyday thanks to the revenge K-drama "The Glory," in which she headlined alongside Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun.

Taking on the role of the iconic antagonist Park Yeon Jin, Lim Ji Yeon not only gained the attention of the viewers but also bagged Best Supporting Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023.

Since then, the actress has starred in back-to-back K-dramas. She is currently headlining the mystery-thriller K-drama "Lies Hidden in My Garden" with Kim Tae Hee.

Meanwhile, Park Sung Woong delivered a breathtaking performance as the villain in Netflix's "Bloodhounds." He starred with Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi, and took on the role of a loan shark boss, Kim Myung Gil.
