‘The Silent Sea’ Cast Update 2023: Gong Yoo & Bae Doona’s Upcoming Projects To Check Out
In 2021, Gong Yoo and Bae Doona teamed up in the highly loved sci-fi series "The Silent Sea."
The duo transformed into space explorers who fly to the moon to retrieve an undisclosed research sample. It topped Netflix's global charts thanks to the great reception from the viewers.
With that, the eight-parter series became one of the most celebrated sci-fi shows up until this writing. On the other hand, here's what's next for Gong Yoo and Bae Doona this 2023.
Gong Yoo
This 2023, Netflix is set to release the long anticipated sci-fi film "Wonderland" starring Bae Suzy, Choi Woo Shik and Park Bo Gum.
It follows the story of a virtual world where grieving families are given a chance to reunite with their deceased loved ones through an artificial intelligence.
Gong Yoo is set to make a special appearance in the forthcoming film which is slated to air in the second half of 2023 on Netflix. It will also be released in China simultaneously.
On the other hand, Gong Yoo reprised his role in the second installment of the smash hit Netflix series "Squid Game" with Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo.

Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Wook and more joined the new season which is expected to be released in early 2024.
Bae Doona
Like Gong Yoo, Bae Doona has also been in the industry for decades now, and has established her name in both Hallyu and Hollywood.
Earlier this year, she returned to the scene with the drama film "Next Sohee" with Kim Si Eun. In the work, she transformed into a reputable detective who seeks answers behind a missing girl's mysterious disappearance.

"Next Sohee" earned a seven-minute standing ovation after it was screened at Cannes. Bae Doona also received a nod as Best Actress.
At the moment, she's gearing up for her American epic space opera film "Rebel Moon" which depicts the war of deities in space. It will be released on December 22 on Netflix.
"Rebel Moon" will also be screened in limited theaters nationwide as "Rebel Moon Part 2," a follow-up film, is in the works. Don't miss its premiere this Christmas.
