"Lies Hidden in My Garden" lead star Choi Jae Rim shared the public's reaction to his character.

In the K-drama 38-year-old musical actor took on the role of Lim Ji Yeon's abusive husband, Kim Yoon Beom. He is also connected to Dr. Park Jae Ho, played by Kim Sung Oh.

During his interview, obtained by a local outlet, Choi Jae Rim spoke about his first villain role.

Debuting in theaters, "Lies Hidden in My Garden" is his second K-drama appearance and first lead role on screen. According to him, joining Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon's drama "was a pleasant experience."

Moreover, he also mentioned that since this is his first antagonist role, he will surely remember his character "a lot."

As for the public's response to his character, Choi Jae Rim revealed that he received mixed reactions from viewers and his friends.

"I received many calls from close acquaintances saying they enjoyed watching it," he said, adding that fans, who watched him on stage were "surprised by the new character" he played, but at the same time, "watched it with interest."

On the other hand, while he received favorable reviews, Choi Jae Rim shared that he would receive hate comments on social media but knew that viewers were referring to his role.

"Most of them were similar comments. It was a curse on Yoon Beom, such as 'Yoon-beom XXX', 'The one to kill', and 'Those things must be done in front of a strong man,'" he recalled.

Despite this, he knew that he was doing the right portrayal and, at some point, said that he "felt good thinking about it."

In "Lies Hidden in My Garden," Kim Yoon Beom is emotionally and physically abusive to his wife, Choo Sang Eun (Lim Ji Yeon). Although she was pregnant with their first child, he would beat her up, which prompted her to take revenge against him.

As the interview continued, Choi Jae Rim left a comment for those who haven't watched "Lies Hidden in My Garden" yet.

Describing it as a "rare thriller" K-drama, the actor pointed out the unique characteristics of the series, including "the psychology of the characters, the overall mise-en-scène, and the color of the work, which are very beautiful."

Of course, he also mentioned his character and said, "It will be fun to curse at Kim Yoon Beom, whom I played."

As mentioned, "Lies Hidden in My Garden" is his first lead role in a K-drama, but he also appeared as a supporting actor in "Green Mothers' Club," playing the role of Lee Yo Won's husband, Jung Jae Woong.
