Following "The Glory" craze, Jung Sung Il is confirmed to headline the upcoming movie "Interview" with Cho Yeo Jung.

As the wealthy and powerful CEO of Jaepyeong Construction, the 43-year-old actor will portray an interesting character for the new film.

Jung Sung Il Meets Desperate Reporter in Upcoming Movie 'Interview'

According to a media outlet, Jung Sung Il and "Parasite" star Cho Yeo Jung will team up for a thriller movie.

As announced by A2G Entertainment, the two will play as the main characters and are scheduled to start the production on July 17.

In the upcoming film, Jung Sung Il transforms into a serial killer named Young Hoon, who has murdered 11 individuals. However, he gets intertwined with veteran reporter Seon Joo, played by Cho Yeo Jung.

Desperate for a scoop, she got caught up in a twisted fate with a serial killer.

According to the actress, the upcoming movie focuses on the substantial story told during the interview between the reporter and the serial killer

Meanwhile, Jung Sung Il expressed his excitement for the upcoming project.

"It took less than a second to read the last chapter of the scenario and make the decision to participate," he explained.

Helmed by Cho Young Joon, the director behind the 2017 movie "The Preparation," Jung Sung Il and Cho Yeo Jung's new movie is scheduled to hit the big screen in 2024.

Moreover, the director promised to bring out the tension between reporter Seon Joo and serial killer Young Hoon.

Jung Sung Il is on His Second Heyday Thanks to 'The Glory'

The 43-year-old actor has been in the industry since 2002, playing various supporting roles.

Viewers can also recognize him as Hanzo Group's Director Park in "Strangers" season 2, the youth shelter therapist Shin Joo Hyuk in "Bad and Crazy," and the character Kim Tae Hoon in "Our Blues."

Interestingly, it was in the revenge K-drama "The Glory" that Jung Sung Il received overwhelming attention both globally and locally. Besides his remarkable acting alongside Song Hye Kyo, Lim Ji Yeon, and Lee Do Hyun, he also earned the moniker "hot ahjussi" by viewers.

At the height of the drama, fans praised Jung Sung Il's head-turning visuals, not to mention his amazing physique.

During his guest appearance in "Yoo Quiz on the Block," the actor revealed that he underwent a major transformation within a span of eight weeks.

Jung Sung Il mentioned that he did a lot of exercises, which included working out for 2-3 hours a day for two months.

Due to his body transformation, "hot Ahjussi syndrome" became a thing. The term is used to describe attractive middle-aged men, like Jung Sung Il.
