Gong Yoo & Seo Hyun Jin to Headline 'Trunk'
Gong Yoo's fans can finally rejoice as the top K-drama actor is returning to the small screen.
Based on a report cited by Netflix on July 17, Gong Yoo is preparing for his comeback drama "Trunk." Award-winning actress Seo Hyun Jin is also confirmed to star alongside the "Goblin" actor.
The new Netflix series "Trunk" presents the story of a couple who are under a one-year marriage contract and marriage arrangement service with secrets. It will be penned by "Hwarang" writer Park Eun Young, who will join forces with "Our Blues" director Noh Hee Kyung, who is assigned to helm the drama.
Seo Hyun Jin & Gong Yoo To Become Married Couple in 'Trunk'
Gong Yoo takes the role of a music producer, Jung Won, whose anxiety and loneliness have been eroded by pain in the past.
Seo Hyun Jin, on the other hand, is In Ji, a woman who works for a fixed-term marriage service company.
After failing on his first marriage, Jung Won meets In Ji, his second wife, through a fixed-term marriage service.
One day, a mysterious trunk is discovered in the lake, and a mysterious secret about the two begins to be revealed.

Even though the lead stars are confirmed, the production team is yet to announce the release date of Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin's first drama collaboration.
"Trunk" marks Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin's first screen project together, and also their drama comeback following almost two years of hiatus.
Gong Yoo & Seo Hyun Jin Update
Aside from "Trunk," Gong Yoo is also returning to Netflix through the second sequel of the highly-anticipated series "Squid Game." The production already named its star-studded cast, with the addition of Im Siwan, Park Sung Hoon, Park Gyu Young, and more.
"Squid Game" Season 2 is scheduled to be released sometime in 2024.
Seo Hyun Jin's last drama was through SBS' "Why Her."
Interestingly, her character Yoon Seo Jung, in the hit medical series "Dr. Romantic," made a surprising cameo in the finale episode of "Dr. Romantic 3," which made the viewers speculate that the drama might produce another season, and that Seo Hyun Jin will make her return.
However, the team hasn't released an official statement yet on whether a sequel is about to be produced soon.
