Kim Do Ha Meets A Liar Hunter
"My Lovely Liar" episode 1 begins with Mok Sol Hee (Kim So Hyun) being commissioned by a group of gangsters to solve a case.
She's a "liar hunter" who has the ability to hear lies just by hearing their voices. Unfortunately, things get out of hand when the employee takes revenge after being exposed by Mok Sol Hee.
As she returns to Seoul, Mok Sol Hee bumps into Kim Do Ha (Hwang Minhyun). She says that he is hers before running away from the gang members who hold a grudge against her.
Meanwhile, Kim Do Ha runs to confront her. He asks Mok Sol Hee what she knows about him. To his surprise, she introduces herself as a person who has the ability to detect lies.
Kim Do Ha's Dilemma
Five years later, Mok Sol Hee's lie-hunting business is on the rise. Kim Do Ha, despite not showing his face to the public, is also a recognized music composer.
Sadly, an exclusive composer whom he works with found his house. Later that day, the reporters swarm around his neighborhood. The news outlets want to know whether he is dating his colleague.

Because he feels that he has no privacy in his home anymore, he moves into a smaller apartment unit prepared by his mentor Cho Deuk Chan (Yoon Ji On).
The Reason Behind Kim Do Ha's Aloof Personality
It is revealed that Kim Do Ha has been traumatized after he was investigated as a murder suspect in a heinous serial killing case in the past.
Because of this, he developed extreme social phobia that made him shut people out of his life besides the close ones he treasures.
Things also become complicated in his new neighborhood when history repeats itself. Kim Do Ha gets mistaken for a molester due to his quiet behavior and mask that he never takes off.
Thankfully, Mok Sol Hee, who is in a convenience store, defends him from his raging neighbors. Kim Do Ha feels immensely grateful to the kind stranger. At the end of the episode, he realizes that it's the same girl he met on the bus five years ago.
