‘Queen Woo’ Captures Ji Chang Wook, Jeon Jong Seo’s High Tension Chemistry In New Teasers

TVING's original period drama "Queen Woo" starring Ji Chang Wook, Jeon Jong Seo, Lee Soo Hyuk and more unveiled exclusive photos from its script reading event much to fans' delight.

The drama, which was given a production green light earlier this year, is among the most anticipated works in Hallyu today. Here's what we know so far.

Ji Chang Wook, Jeon Jong Seo Play King & Queen In New Drama

On August 1, photos of Ji Chang Wook and Jeon Jong Seo's first meeting were shared to the public as TVING's original series "Queen Woo" begins its production.

The two renowned actors work together for the first time in "Queen Woo" which follows the story of a queen who is in search of a new king before the tribes seize the throne.

Ji Chang Wook is known for his immersive acting from "The K2," "Suspicious Partner" and "The Sound of Magic," to name a few. In the series, he plays Go Nam Moo, the king of Goguryeo.

In the script reading event, he showed off his flawless synchronization with his character with his impeccable line delivery that is filled with emotions. Meanwhile, Jeon Jong Seo possesses the dignity of Queen Woo Hee.

Her immersive portrayal of the queen meshes with Ji Chang Wook's character, which impresses the director and the production crew of the show.

Attention is given to the two principal characters who will give life to South Korea's rich culture through the new drama "Queen Woo."

Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Soo Hyuk, More Complete Casting Lineup

Besides the duo, seasoned actors Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Soo Hyuk, Park Ji Hwan and more join the ensemble, completing the casting lineup.

Kim Mu Yeol plays Eul Pa So, the prime minister of Goguryeo who also acts as Go Nam Moo's advisor. In the script reading, he effortlessly synchronized with his character.

The actor is known for his supporting role in the crime drama "Juvenile Justice." In his brand new work, he's expected to showcase a different side of him that he hasn't shown before.

Lee Soo Hyuk graces the drama with his beauty as Go Bal Gi, a candidate for the succession to the throne. His clash with equally beautiful actor Ji Chang Wook heightens the excitement among the audiences.

On top of that, Jung Yoo Mi plays the role of Woo Hee's older sister Woo Soon. She is a graceful consort who has a sinister plan under her sleeves which creates tension.

Moreover, veterans Park Ji Hwan, Jeon Bae Soo and Jo Han Cheol all join the cast as the surrounding powerful figures in the Woo family, adding more flair to the upcoming show.

The supporting actors showed off their sterling acting prowess and meticulous attention to details that highlights their characters' own colors.

Fans can look forward to the chemistry between the main cast as well as the drama's whole ensemble. With that said, "Queen Woo" begins filming this August with the intention to release it in early 2024.
