Kim Rae Won Dishes Thoughts On 'The First Responders 2'

After almost a year, Kim Rae Won's action crime drama "The First Responders" returns with a new season. The series boasts a jam-packed production with a star-studded cast including Gong Seung Yeon, Son Ho Jun and more.

"The First Responders 2" depicts the upgraded collaboration between the police force, fire department and the National Forensic Service in helping the citizens in need in the city.

Kim Rae Won reprised his role as Jin Ho Go, a police detective who stops at nothing to achieve justice. In Season 1, viewers were able to see his struggles in both his job and personal life.

It was well-received by the public which heightened the demand for another installment. In fact, the series scored a high average of 10.3% before it concluded.

Kim Rae Won Gets Candid On Competition With Namgoong Min

This August, Kim Rae Won's most anticipated "The First Responders 2" is coming to terrestrial television, taking on the Friday and Saturday time slot.

However, Namgoong Min, another veteran star, will also return at the same time with the period drama "Lovers." It's another work that is highly awaited by many.

When asked whether he's pressured to compete with Namgoong Min, Kim Rae Won candidly stated that he's a bit pressured but not enough to be scared for his own work.

The actor even said that he's most excited to return than to compete with anyone. He added, "Let's just all go for it."

Meanwhile, "The First Responders 2" director Kwon Bong Geun is under intense pressure. He stated, "Since Namgoong Min's work is a historical drama, the pressure is higher on us with a modern setting."

The director appealed to the viewers, asking for them to love "The First Responders 2" more.

On the other hand, Kim Rae Won's action crime drama airs every Friday and Saturday on SBS TV at 10:00 p.m. KST.
