The avid fans of the occult drama "Hellbound" are in for a treat this year as it announced Season 2's production.

Released in 2022, the series became a huge sensation internationally, following the success of the smash hit series "Squid Game."

'Hellbound' Announces Season 2 Production

On August 4, Netflix quenched the thirst of "Hellbound" fans for a new season as the production finally received its green light.

"Hellbound," which was released in 2022, is a horror series that follows the supernatural phenomenon where the people are sentenced for their sins by the "messengers" of hell.

During its premiere, the series received huge acclaim from viewers all around the world, and even recorded millions of viewing hours during its first week of premiere.

It enjoyed the same popularity as the survival show "Squid Game" and the apocalyptic series "All of Us Are Dead."

Due to its success and intriguing premise, the public demands for a new season. Thankfully, "Hellbound" received the green light a year later, much to fans' delight.

Netflix confirmed its on-going production and dropped a clip of the new cast and crew with the caption, "The beginning of a new hell."

On the other hand, Season 1 director Yeon Sang Ho returns to lead the work together with screenwriter Choi Gyu Seok.

Kim Sung Cheol To Lead 'Hellbound' Season 2

Originally, Yoo Ah In took on the role of Jung Jin Soo, a cult leader that judges people for their crimes and unspeakable secrets.

Due to his recent drug controversies, the production unit of "Hellbound" parted ways with the actor, and cast Kim Sung Cheol instead.

He's a talented star who appeared in various popular works like "Our Beloved Summer," "Do You Like Brahms?," "Prison Playbook" and more.

Kim Sung Cheol headlines "Hellbound" Season 2 alongside Moon Geun Young who will star as the leader of the supporters called "Sunshine Teacher."

The meeting of the two actors caused great anticipation among fans, especially those who have waited for the new installment for a long time.

In particular, Kim Hyun Joo, Kim Shin Rok, Yang Ik June and more reprise their roles in the new installment, guaranteeing a star-studded cast ensemble.
