Nana returns to the television scene with her brand new thriller series "Mask Girl" with Go Hyun Jung this summer.

The singer-actress expressed her excitement for the work, and even shared her honest thoughts on her new acting role prior to its premiere.


Nana Expresses Excitement For 'Mask Girl' Debut

On August 16, idol-actress Nana made an appearance at the production presentation for Netflix's upcoming thriller series "Mask Girl" with Go Hyun Jung.

The brand new series follows the life of an ordinary office employee who gets involved in a heinous murder after living a second life as a broadcast jockey who hides behind a mask.

Nana plays Kim Mo Mi who is blessed with a conventionally pretty face and body. Go Hyun Jung and Lee Han Byul also play the role, marking their first ever three-in-one character in a drama.

Fans are tuning in to the work due to the complex casting of three actresses in the main role. Nana stated that is greatly honored to act opposite Go Hyun Jung, an actress she looks up to the most.

Originally rose to fame as a member of the legendary idol group After School, Nana has appeared in various series such as "The Good Wife," "Justice" and "Love in Contract" since her debut.

The idol-actress guarantees a worthwhile watching experience as "Mask Girl" marks her first ever dark-themed drama. She added that the fantasy elements also spiced up the production.

Nana On Choosing 'Mask Girl' As Comeback Drama

The Hallyu star also revealed her reason for choosing "Mask Girl" as her next acting project.

Nana said that she was a fan of Kim Young Hoon, the director who also created "Beasts Clawing at Straws," and she has dreamed of working with him for a long time.

She added, "The new Netflix series also spoke to me. It has a heavy concept but it also offers fresh elements that have never been seen before in the Hallyu scene."

With this, Nana thinks that there are no reasons not to accept the acting offer. In addition, she also hints at the surprise performances in store for the viewers.

According to her, she relived her career as an idol in "Mask Girl" where she performed her senior Son Dam Bi's songs. She said, "I used to sing it a lot since I was an idol trainee."

Nana concludes by saying that she had a lot of great memories during the filming of "Mask Girl," and asks for the public to anticipate its release.
