Im Siwan & Lee Sun Bin To Headline Coming-of-Age K-Drama ‘Boyhood’

Im Siwan, Lee Sun Bin, More to Lead Coupang Play's 'Boyhood'
On August 17, the online streaming platform, Coupang Play, unveiled the main cast of its new coming-of-age series "Boyhood," formerly known as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." Headlining the drama are Im Siwan, Lee Sun Bin, Lee Si Woo, and Kang Hye Won.

Set in 1980 in the backdrop of Buyeo Agricultural High School in Chungcheong Province. "Boyhood" presents the story of Byung Tae, a high school student whose only goal is to not get beat up but who becomes a powerful kid overnight.
What We Know So Far About 'Boyhood's' Cast Members
Im Siwan is Jang Byung Tae, a weak and loner boy living in Onyang of South Chungcheong Province. He is at the bottom of the school's social ladder. He decides to transfer to Buyeo Agricultural High School where he faces an unexpected event that becomes the biggest turning point in his life.
"Boyhood" marks Im Siwan's comeback after his healing drama "Summer Strike." The idol-actor is also expected to appear in the second sequel of the megahit series "Squid Game."
Following her notable performance in "Work Later, Drink Now," Lee Sun Bin is ready to meet the audience again with a new role. She will portray Park Ji Young, who is also dubbed as 'Buyeo's black spider.'
Joining them are rising actors Lee Si Woo and Kang Hye Won, who are establishing solid filmographies through various works. They will play the roles of Jung Kyung Tae also known as 'Asan's White Tiger,' and Kang Sung Hwa also prominent as the 'Neighborhood Queen Bee," respectively.
'Boyhood' To Premiere in Second Half of 2023
Aside from introducing its main cast members, the production also dropped some character stills to give a sneak peek of the actors' soon-to-portray roles.
The creative mind behind the hit series "The Fiery Priest" and "Backstreet Rookie" Lee Myung Woo helmed the project. "Boyhood," which is one of the most anticipated Coupang Play dramas this year, is expected to air in the second half of 2023.
Other details about the drama are yet to be announced.
