The second season of "Arthdal Chronicles" finally arrived on the screen, set eight years after its predecessor, delivering the story of three people who will bring different fates to Arthdal.

'Arthdal Chronicles 2' Episode 1-2: A War Begins

"Arthdal Chronicles 2" Episode 1 begins with Tanya's (Shin Se Kyung) rise as the high priestess while Eunseom and Saya (Lee Joon Gi) become leaders of the East and military commander, respectively.

It is revealed that Tagon's (Jang Dong Gun) forces were blocked by the tribes. Only the Bato Tribe and the Agon Union support the former's conquest.

Eunseom speaks with the Bato tribe leader to find more comrades while Saya puts his plan into action. Things get heated when the former is double crossed.

This then breaks out a war between the Bato tribe. Eunseom fights bravely even when he is surprised to see Saya, his twin brother.

Tanya Clashes With Tae Alha

Tae Alha (Kim Ok Vin) faces danger when two men attempt to assassinate her and her son. When Tagon hears about the news, he sends his men to prepare for war.

At the temple, Tanya takes care of her fellow natives which increases her faith as her psychic powers go through some changes.

She is then summoned by Mu Baek (Pak Hae Joon) who brings the news about Saya's possibility of becoming the new king.

Tae Alha claims that Saya was the one who tried to kill her but Tanya shrugs it off. Because of this, she saves Tagon by revealing the Ago warriors' plans on their land.

Tagon tells Saya to defeat Eunseom to make him the official heir, making the former more eager to take the other down.

Meanwhile, Eunseom begins to work on his plans to take over the Arthdal. Unfortunately, the Ago tribe is far more prepared than them as they go on a battle.

The Battle of the Twins

Eunseom and Saya face one another with their armies, determined to take each other down. They even send their best soldiers in the all-out war with no plans to retreat.

The war only comes to an end when Eunseom escapes and when the Arthdal army suffers a huge hit after losing soldiers and horses.

Elsewhere, Saya is dissatisfied with the result of the battle which only intensifies his wrath. Meanwhile, Tae Alha looks for a special sword made by Tanya's father, angering Tagon.

Because of this, Tanya promises to start a revolution against Tae Alha's son after she harmed her father. Yeolson (Jung Suk Yung) reveals his loyalty to Tagon, making him prime minister.

He then tells his daughter that Eunseom is no longer the same man she knows, and reminds her of the on-going war.

What Happens To Arthdal?

Eunseom and Saya meet alone, revealing that they are indeed twin brothers. Little does he know, Saya has a plan to kill.

Sadly, things don't go according to plan due to their opposing beliefs and political thoughts. Just minutes later, they engage in a fight with an unknown creature.
