Lee Dong Hwi Faces Controversies Due To 'Rude Behavior'

On September 20, Lee Dong Hwi appeared as a celebrity guest on the popular YouTube channel TEO's "Salon Drip 2."

The Hallyu superstar made an appearance to promote his brand new mystery-thriller film "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman," which airs on September 27.

During the show, many of the actor's friends showed their support to the actor and his upcoming work. Some of them revealed some secrets regarding Lee Dong Hwi, much to fans' delight.

Lee Hyeri, whom the actor worked with in "Reply 1988," shared that Lee Dong Hwi recently disappointed her. Earlier this year, the cast of the iconic series gathered at a dinner.

According to the singer-actress, Lee Dong Hwi confidently walked in the restaurant despite being late, which was off-putting for the crew.

When asked why, the actor revealed that he came from a recording and even bragged about how he "hard carried the show," sending the viewers to laughter.

This opened the recent issue about the actor's "rude" behavior. The controversy involved Lee Hyeri's real-life boyfriend and "Reply 1988" co-star Ryu Jun Yeol.

It was reported that Lee Dong Hwi allegedly "disrupted" the actor's exhibition due to his late arrival and nonchalance.

The actor revealed being surprised about the controversies as these have been an "inside joke" among him and his "Reply 1988" actors.

Lee Dong Hwi reasoned that despite their busy schedules, they make sure that they allot even a little bit of time to their friendship even if it meant arriving later than the others.

"Regarding the exhibition, I didn't plan to go that day," Lee Dong Hwi confessed. "Everyone in our team was going so I went along with no preparation."

He also emphasized that this is a running joke among them, especially with his "Reply 1988" friends. In fact, Lee Dong Hwi had always been present to Ryu Jun Yeol's exhibits through the years.

Lee Dong Hwi Makes Silver Theater Comeback This Fall

Lee Dong Hwi returns to the spotlight with the upcoming mystery thriller film "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" this fall.

Also starring Kang Dong Won, Esom and Kim Jong Soo, the webtoon-based film follows the life of a fake exorcist who can't see ghosts.

Despite his pretentious life, many still hire him when it comes to powerful possession cases. As he continues his facade, he is subjected to solving a case with his ghost-like insight.

"Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" airs theatrically on September 27, coinciding the South Korean mid-autumn holiday so make sure to check it out.
