‘The Escape of the Seven’ Star Lee Yoo Bi Reveals Interesting Story Behind Her Casting & Dealing With Haters of Han Mo Ne

Here's How Lee Yoo Bi Got the Offer to Play Villain Han Mo Ne in 'The Escape of the Seven'
From the creators of "The Penthouse: War in Life," SBS dropped another thriller mystery K-drama that depicts the revenge of a missing high school student named Bang Da Mi.
One of the seven tormentors in Da Mi's life is the K-pop wannabe Han Mo Ne, played by Lee Yoo Bi.
According to the actress, she got the role through the director Joo Dong Min, who also helmed "The Penthouse," where she also played a cameo role.
"After we finished filming, director Joo Dong Min said to me, 'Yoo Bi, thank you for a job well done. I think I'll be contacting you next time,'" the actress recalled, adding that she thought that it was a compliment but got surprised after the director personally contacted her after wrapping up the Makjang drama.
It can be recalled that Lee Yoo Bi's special appearance in "The Penthouse" season 3 portrayed the orphan group leader who bullied Han Ji Hyun's character.
At the time, the actress received a positive response from the public for her amazing portrayal of Il Jin.

Interestingly, Lee Yoo Bi revealed that at the time of "The Penthouse" filming, she was also working on the K-drama "Yumi's Cells" and played a completely different role.
"The atmosphere on the sets of the two dramas was completely different," she said, adding, "I was overwhelmed by the intense energy of the set. I think it was my first time seeing such an energetic filming site."
In the webtoon-based rom-com, Lee Yoo Bi's role as Ruby is one of Yumi's co-workers who has a bubbly and very girly personality, which is different from her role in "The Penthouse" season 3.
Lee Yoo Bi on Viewers Who Hate Han Mo Ne
Since she is playing a villain role, Lee Yoo Bi says she is expecting hate from viewers.
However, she also added that instead of hate, she wished that the audience would see her potential as a serious actress.
"I want to hear people say, 'She's no joke.' If I hear people say, 'She's something else,' wouldn't that mean I did a good job? "She explained.
'The Escape of the Seven' Episode 7 Release Date, Where to Watch
As the series is set to end its first half, the stories and scenes in the SBS K-drama get more intense.
"The Escape of the Seven" episode 7 is scheduled to air on October 6 at 9 p.m. KST.
