'Weak Hero Class 1' Bags Major Award at 2023 Asia Content Awards

The 2022 school-thriller series "Weak Hero Class 1" won the Best OTT Original at the 2023 Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards in Busan.

The event was held on October 8 where multiple multi-talented actors, actresses, and creatives were present. The Asia Content Awards is a big event of the Busan International Film Festival that honors outstanding television, OTT, and online content in Asia.

Director Yoo Soo Min, creator Han Joon Hee, producer Kim Myung Jin, and other representatives went on stage to receive the award.

Is It True? 'Weak Hero Class' Season 2 is Coming

While delivering his speech, Producer Kim mentioned that "Weak Hero Class" Season 2 is finally coming soon.

"It's an honor to receive such a major award. I received a proposal to create a growth drama that can be seen not only by men, but also by women, students, and adults too. And I thank everyone who made the project possible."

Kim Myung Jin continued and mentioned the people behind the success of the series. According to him, the drama received a lot of love and support since "Weak Hero Class 1" was screened at the BIFF in 2022.

While delivering his speech, he spontaneously hinted at the preview of the much-awaited book 2 of the drama.

"The team has come this far thanks to your energy and love, we plan to gather more strength to create the next chapter. We hope for a lot of anticipation and interest in this story as we will continue to tell it. Please remember that the forthcoming stories will truly be about weak heroes."

Before concluding, Mr. Kim thanked the actors who made impeccable performances in the series namely, Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, and Hong Kyung, who are now receiving more projects after starring in the drama.

Furthermore, "Weak Hero Class 1" tells the story of a high school student Yeon Si Eun, a top student attending a school known for its rampant violence and bullying. The drama focuses on his determination to stand up against the bullies and bring justice to the school.

Thanks to this project, Park Ji Hoon earned his Best New Actor at the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards, while Choi Hyun Wook won the Whynot Award at the same event.
