"Strong Girl Namsoon," starring Lee Yoo Mi, has exceeded the success of Park Bo Young's "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" during the release of its pilot episode.

Viewers expressed their excitement to see the spin-off after the rom-com series started with a strong premiere.

'Strong Girl Namsoon' Surpassed 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' Pilot Episode

In a report cited by Neilsen Korea, "Strong Girl Namsoon" kicked off with impressive viewership ratings.

The pilot episode garnered an average nationwide rating of 4.3 percent, making it the most watched series in its time slot.

In addition, "Strong Girl Namsoon" episode 1 surpassed the recorded average rating of "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," which at the time scored only 3.8 percent.

Interestingly, as the spin-off continues its first week of release, the show's second episode soared to an average nationwide rating of 6.1 percent, achieving a significant jump from its previous rating.

Although the new series is based on the 2017 hit K-drama "Strong Girl Namsoon," it focuses on the three generations of women with impressive strength and powers.

Viewers get to see Lee Yoo Mi take on the role of Do Bong Soon's cousin, Gang Nam Soon, a woman who is a ball of sunshine for everyone.

She is loved by her family, especially her father, Kang Bong Goo, and mother, Hwang Geum Joo, played by the returning Kim Jung Eun.

Meanwhile, Nam Soon's loving grandmother, Gil Joong Gan, portrayed by veteran actress Kim Hae Sook,is a legend in their neighborhood.

Their family is known for their wealth, especially when Hwang Geum Joo's business skyrocketed.

As for their powers, they use their strength to do the common good and maintain a peaceful neighborhood.

It can be recalled that in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," it was revealed that a person with the gift could only use her strength to help others, and she will automatically lose it once she exploits or uses it for personal benefit.

Meanwhile, viewers get to see Lee Yoo Mi's on-screen chemistry with Ong Seung Woo as he plays the passionate detective, Kang Hee Shik.

He and Nam Soon unexpectedly meet after she experienced a setback during her trip from Mongolia to South Korea.

Meanwhile, Byun Woo Seok will bring out a dark atmosphere against Nam Soon and her family as he plays the viscous villain Ryu Si Oh. 

Viewers should look forward to the thrilling confrontation between him and the three generations of heroines.

Adding to the list of cast members are Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Shik's cameos, reprising their roles as Do Bong Soon and Ahn Min Hyuk.
