Reliving her break up with Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus exposes her sensitive side in the anticipated "10 Most Fascinating People of 2013" interview with Barbara Walters.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer opened up about the canceled engagement with "The Hunger Games" star and how they both were moving way too fast.

The 21-year-old twerking sensation actually revealed that she stayed in the relationship with the heartthrob, 23, due to fear.

"I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year," said Cyrus to Walters, according US Weekly. "I don't ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can't be yourself."

The former Hannah Montana and Aussie hunk hooked up on the set of "The Last Song" in June of 2009. Three years later, the two were announcing their engagement.

Although she was only a teenager when she got engaged to Hemsworth, Cyrus confessed to Walters that she did love the actor and wanted to marry him at the time.

"I don't think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn't change being engaged," Cyrus said.

She added that rocking a huge diamond ring in the process was a plus.

"It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years," said the singer who made such a spectacle at the MTV VMAs this year.

At the present day, Cyrus claims to be at peace with her solitude.

"But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I'm just at my house, by myself," she said.

Currently, Cyrus is putting commitment on the back burner.

"I think I'll want that in the times that it needs to be," she said.

"The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013" will air this Wednesday night on ABC.
