After 30 years of hosting the prestigious event, Kim Hye Soo will be gracing the stage for the last time as MC for the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The award-winning actress, hailed as the "Goddess of Blue Dragon," will be bidding goodbye to her longtime role as the ceremony's host.

Kim Hye Soo to Host Her Last Blue Dragon Film Awards

In a report, the "Under the Queen's Umbrella" star will be hosting the Blue Dragon Film Awards 2023 for the last time, marking her 30 years as the event's MC.

"Kim Hye Soo will lay down her crown after hosting this year's 30th Blue Dragon Film Awards," the organizer of the Blue Dragon Awards confirmed.

Since 1993, the 53-year-old top star has been hosting the ceremony, except in 1998, when Shim Hye Jin hosted the event.

With this significant contribution, Kim Hye Soo set a record as the longtime running host of the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The last time she took on the role of the event's MC was with Yoo Yeon Seok in 2022. It was his fifth time hosting the event with the actress.

Blue Dragon Film Awards 2023 Details

Honoring excellence in film in South Korea, the annual ceremony is among the most highly anticipated award-giving body events in the industry.

The 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be held on November 24 at KBS Hall in Yeouido and will broadcast live via KBS.

Per reports, the public voting for the nominee selection began from October 11 until October 29, conducted through the event's official website.

The 15 categories include Best Director, Best New Director, Best Film, Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best New Actor and Actress, and more.

As for the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards nominees, the results of the final public voting and expert panel will determine who among the stars made it to this year's ceremony.

Will Kim Hye Soo Return With New K-drama?

After her back-to-back projects in 2022, from "Juvenile Justice" to "Under the Queen's Umbrella" to her big screen comeback in 2023 for "Smugglers," fans might see more of the actress in the coming year as she stars in new series.

In a report, Kim Hye Soo is in talks to headline an office comedy K-drama by Producing Director (PD) Yoo Seon Dong of "The Uncanny Counter." Titled "Trigger," it focuses on the lives of employees working for Korea's first Investigative Journalism Bureau of a broadcasting company.

Kim Hye Soo is offered the role of team leader of the Investigative Journalism Bureau and is someone with a strong sense of justice.
