Jo Sam Dal Flourishes As Photographer

The first episode brings its viewers back to the 90s as it begins with young Jo Yong Pil (Ji Chang Wook) and Jo Sam Dal (Shin Hye Sun) as a singer-and-manager duo.

As time passes by, they grow up into young adults with hopes and dreams. Jo Sam Dal finally reaches her goals to leave the small town, her past and her best friend.

Years later, she made it big in Seoul as a renowned photographer. However, her dating life is in chaos. Despite being brokenhearted many times, she continues to do amazing in her job.

Jo Sam Dal also avoids accepting projects that have something to do with Jeju Island as she doesn't want to go back due to personal reasons.

Jo Yong Pil Becomes Successful Weatherman

Jo Yong Pil stays in their hometown and never leaves. He becomes a weather forecaster who is feared by his peers due to his uncontrollability.

Although he's a troublemaker, his forecasting accuracy is lauded by many, giving him opportunities to go to Seoul. However, he doesn't want to bump into Jo Sam Dal. Jo Sam Dal's World Crumbles

Jo Sam Dal learns that her ex-boyfriend's other woman is none other than her assistant of many years. This leaves her shocked, ruining her 15-year-long dream of holding her own exhibit.

Things take a darker turn when her assistant tries to take her own life due to being bullied at Jo Sam Dal's workplace, sending the latter to a spiral. With just a simple rumor, everything that Jo Sam Dal had worked hard for gets taken away from her, leaving her no choice but to disappear.

She says goodbye to her pride and goes back to Jeju Island, the small town she worked too hard to leave.

Jo Yong Pil Yearns For Jo Sam Dal

At the end of the episode, the series takes viewers back to when Jo Sam Dal and Jo Yong Pil were 17 years old, wishing that she was on one of the planes leaving for Seoul.

Years later, Jo Yong Pil sits on the same spot alone while reading an interview where Jo Sam Dal says she never wants to go back to the place that she left.
