'Chief Inspector 1958' Trailer is Out!
On January 4, MBC dropped the first-ever trailer of its much-awaited series "Chief Inspector 1958." The clip already showcased the predicted spectacular revival of the famous series. Expectations are high on the actors' performances and how they will give justice to their respective characters.
"Chief Inspector 1958" is a prequel to "Chief Inspector" that aired in 1971-1989, and wrote a history of Korean investigative dramas.
It all started when Detective Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon) was appointed to Seoul. In a barbaric era, he specialized in apprehending petty thieves and collaborated with three colleagues to break down the absurdity of corrupt power.

Their investigation goes back and forth between analog and retro, which is expected to provide a unique catharsis to the younger generation.
Lee Je Hoon Turns Into Legendary Detective Park Young Han
The clip began with a majestic introduction of Park Young Han's character, a detective who just arrived in Seoul. He is a passionate detective, who catches criminals in gambling halls, markets, and underground places in Gyeonggi-do, which has the highest arrest rate of thieves.
However, in 1958, when the era of darkness began, the investigation of Seoul was chaotic. From murder cases to car explosions and to close encounters with criminals using guns and fists.
In that challenging time, Park Young Han and his co-detectives became frustrated. But Park has a strong will, "There are only two things we need to remember. Protect the weak and beat up the bad guys."
When the riot officially began, the scene made the audience more excited about the performances of these legendary detectives.
Joining Captain Park Young Han in the team are Kim Sang Sun (Lee Dong Hwi), Jo Kyung Hwan (Choi Woo Sung), and Seo Ho Jung (Yoon Hyun Soo), showing off the barbaric era that will travel the audience back in time. It piqued the viewers' interest in how the trio would do the special investigation against the chaotic environment in 1958.
Even though there's no confirmed date yet, "Chief Inspector 1958" is expected to be released this 2024 on MBC. The series will occupy the Friday and Saturday slots and is said to have 12 episodes in total.
