This 2024, she received high praises among fans after her villainous transformation in the recently released historical thriller series "Gyeongseong Creature."

Soo Hyun Expresses Gratitude To 'Gyeongseong Creature' Viewers

Following the completion of "Gyeongseong Creature," scene-stealer actress Soo Hyun shared her honest thoughts on her experience, performance and more.

Through her agency YG Entertainment, Soo Hyun thanked the viewers who tuned into the series from beginning until the end, and are still anticipating its Season 2.

"Together with the production team, we put all of our love and efforts into this work," Soo Hyun shared. "It was a huge challenge for me, and I was nervous about how Maeda would be received."

In the series, Soo Hyun transformed into Lady Maeda Yukiko, a Japanese noblewoman who holds the most power, wealth and secrets to the eerie occurrences in Gyeongseong in 1945.

Soo Hyun created a spine-chilling atmosphere as a villain who has a tight connection to Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee's Jang Tae Sang and Yoon Chae Ok, making her one of the fan favorite stars in the show.

Soo Hyun Reveals Difficulties In Playing Maeda Yukiko

To further immerse herself in the role, Soo Hyun wore a neat kimono (Japanese traditional attire) to display her calm and delicate demeanor.

She even added a mysterious charm to her look as she neatly tied her hair in a bun while rocking a very bright red lipstick which hints at her huge contribution to the monstrous tragedy.

According to the actress, she struggled in controlling her emotions while playing her role due to the fact that she cries easily. Thankfully, she overcame it and successfully played Lady Maeda.

In addition, Soo Hyun was able to synchronize with her character seamlessly by effortlessly delivering her lines in both Korean and Japanese language.

With her background in Hollywood, it's not shocking that Soo Hyun was able to say her lines with proper intonation, enunciating every syllable without awkwardness.

Soo Hyun left a great impact on the viewers as the ruthless Yukiko Maeda, making them anticipate to see more of her in the South Korean television scene.

Currently, the actress is preparing to show her charms in her upcoming film "Ordinary Family" and K-drama "I'm Not A Hero," which are both slated to air in the second half of 2024.
