‘Death’s Game’ Episode 7-8: Park So Dam Grants Seo In Guk’s Final Wish

After taking his own life, Seo In Guk is subjected to a grave punishment to experience the cycle of life and death a dozen times.

In "Death's Game" episode 7 to 8, Park So Dam sends him to his final life. Will Seo In Guk finally learn his lesson?

Choi Lee Jae Wonders Who He Is

Choi Lee Jae (Seo In Guk) visits the man who took the fall for Lee Ji Soo's (Go Yoon Jung) accident instead of Park Tae Woo (Kim Ji Hoon).

He also visits the latter in the hospital before living as Ahn Ji Hyung (Oh Jung Se). He continues to uphold him as a police officer and works hard in solving cases.

However, Ahn Ji Hyung gets killed in an encounter, angering Death (Park So Dam) for once again purposely killing himself. Because of this, he wakes up as a homeless man in his next life.

Choi Lee Jae wonders who he is as he lives multiple lives that weren't his own. No matter who he is, he will never live as Choi Lee Jae anymore.

Choi Lee Jae's Final Punishment

Death realizes that Choi Lee Jae still doesn't learn his lessons, sending him to a new life; his own mother. Choi Lee Jae relives his mother's memories, experiencing the pain she went through after his suicide. He blames Death for being cruel.

Left with no choice, he lives as his mother, working overtime while reliving the awful memories she experienced following Choi Lee Jae's death.

At home, Choi Lee Jae learns that his mother is saving up for him to buy a house when he gets older, sending him into a spiral. He wishes he could apologize to his mother.

To give back to his mother, he decides to take a trip to Mt. Obong, a favorite vacation spot for his parents. He tells his mother he wants to be her son in their next lives.

Choi Lee Jae's Biggest Realization

Choi Lee Jae regrets living in fear and taking his own life. He realizes that he ended his life before it could even blossom, not knowing that life is worth living.

With this realization, Choi Lee Jae chooses to live as his mother for 32 years, longer than the time spent living as himself. He chooses to live with the pain his mother went through.

He begs Death to give him another chance to live by himself one more time to hug his mother. Death tells him that his punishment is over, and all that remains is God's judgment.

"Death's Game" ends with Choi Lee Jae back at the rooftop. He finally picks up the phone when his mother calls.
