Jang Ki Yong’s Comeback Drama ‘Although I Am Not a Hero’ To Air in THIS Month

Jang Ki Yong is ready to make the viewers swoon again as he is back on the weekend primetime with his new drama "Although I Am Not a Hero," beginning in THIS month.

After two years of hiatus and following his military discharge, the heartthrob is excited to meet the audience with his new heroic role in his first project this 2024.

'Although I Am Not a Hero' Drops Poster + Confirms Premiere Date

K-network, JTBC is gearing up for an exciting summer treat to viewers as the broadcasting company finally revealed the confirmed date of its upcoming fantasy-romance drama "Although I Am Not a Hero."

The series follows the journey of a man with a unique power who has never been able to save anyone until he finally meets the woman of his destiny.

This new project boasts a powerhouse team with SKY Castle director Jo Hyun Tak, "Marriage, Not Dating" writer Ju Hwa Mi, along Kang Eun Kyung, one of the creatives behind the medical series "Dr. Romantic."

Jang Ki Yong Looks Mysterious While Chun Woo Hee Exhibits Confidence 

JTBC dropped a group poster introducing the characters' mysterious identities. It features the 'superpower Bok family' and the enigmatic Do Da Hae to be played by Chun Woo Hee. 

Covered in shadow behind a curtain, Bok Gwi Ju (Jang Ki Yong) sparks questions with his character appearance. Meanwhile, Do Da Hae's suspicious arrival in the clan adds intrigue, as she stands strong and confidently before everyone else. 

Aside from the main protagonists, the poster also gave a sneak peek at Bok's family members. Bok Man Heum (Go Doo Shim), is suffering from insomnia but gifted with prophetic dreams.

Bok Dong Hee (Claudia Kim), Gwi Ju's noon struggles with the loss of her once-powerful ability to fly due to her weight. Bok Gwi Ju's daughter, Bok Ina (Park So Yi), who hides her emotions, adds mystery to her character. 

Completing the family tree is Gwi Ju's father, Um Soon Soo (Oh Man Seok), a loving father who does not have superpowers but takes care of the superhero family with kindness.

'Although I Am Not a Hero' Gears for May Release

The drama's production team invited the viewers to watch and support the soon-to-release series. 

"Please look forward to Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee's chemistry, as well as their synergy with their co-stars Go Doo Shim, Park So Yi, Oh Man Seok, and more that will maximize the fun of the story.

"Although I Am Not a Hero" will finally hit the small screen beginning May 4 at 10:30 p.m. on JTBC. The drama is expected to occupy the Saturday and Sunday slots.
