South Korean actor Lee Dong-gun is reportedly in a new relationship with actress Kang Hae-rim, five years after his divorce from actress Jo Yoon-hee.

On June 1, multiple industry sources confirmed to local media outlets that Lee, 43, has been dating Kang, 27.

Though both actors and their agencies have declined to confirm the relationship, insiders said Lee has been open with those close to him about the romance.

"Thank you for congratulating me," and "I'm happy," Lee has reportedly told friends and colleagues, according to sources.

WPLUS Entertainment, Lee's agency, told reporters, "It's a private matter, so we're unable to confirm anything." Kang's agency, ANDMARQ, echoed the statement, saying, "We cannot confirm details about the actress's private life."

Lee and Kang have reportedly been spotted on multiple casual dates around Seoul's Gangnam district, enjoying cafés and walks.

According to the reports, Lee has introduced Kang as his girlfriend to close acquaintances, signaling a serious relationship.

This marks Lee's first publicly known relationship since his divorce from Jo in May 2020.

The former couple married in September 2017 and welcomed a daughter later that year.

Despite the split, Lee is said to maintain a close relationship with his daughter, which has been depicted on the variety show My Little Old Boy.

Kang, who debuted in the 2017 web drama Idol Rights Delegate, rose to wider recognition after landing the lead role in Netflix's Somebody, reportedly beating out over 600 auditioning actresses for the part.

The alleged affair has piqued public interest as a result of the 16-year age difference and Lee's return to the limelight following a long period of remaining out of it.

Although rumors persist, they have both requested privacy regarding their personal lives.
