During her June 28 appearance on the popular YouTube talk show Pinggyego, hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and comedian Yang Se-chan, Hyori shared candid thoughts about how the media landscape has changed dramatically since her early days on television.

"The world really has changed so much in just over a decade," she said. "I wasn't in the broadcasting scene while all these changes happened, so now when I film something, I feel really nervous and confused."

Hyori, who stepped back from the industry in 2013 after marrying musician Lee Sang-soon and relocating to Jeju Island, admitted to grappling with what is now considered socially acceptable in the entertainment industry.

Recalling the humor norms of the past, she said, "Back then, it was okay to joke about a woman's breast size.

People would ask things like, 'Are you a B cup or C cup?' And I start wondering, what if I said something like, 'You look like an A cup,' as a joke today? Would that be okay?"

Her remarks drew laughter from Yoo and Yang, with Yang quickly replying, "That one probably wouldn't fly today."

Hyori then asked earnestly, "Let me know what jokes are off-limits now."

Known for her sharp wit and fearless commentary, Hyori's remarks highlighted the growing sensitivity around body-related jokes and the evolving standards of Korean broadcasting.

While some fans praised her honesty, others noted that her comments reflect the need for ongoing media literacy and adaptation to current social values.

Hyori is now preparing for her official return to television as the MC of Channel A's upcoming beauty competition program, Top-Class Makeup Survival: Just Makeup, marking a new chapter in her long and influential career.

Despite her absence from mainstream variety shows, Hyori has recently re-engaged with the public, making appearances on programs such as You Quiz on the Block and speaking openly about personal topics, including aging, depression, and career fatigue.

"I'm still figuring it out," she said on Pinggyego. "But I'm willing to learn."
