On the September 21st instalment of "SBS's My Little Old Boy," the 45-year-old star appeared at a hospital, worried about recurring eye pain and other mysterious symptoms.

Detailing his illness, Lee, according to Sports Chosun, explained to the physician, "About once a month, my eyes get bloodshot, and even breathing is painful."

He also mentioned additional physical discomfort he has been experiencing.
"When the symptoms are severe, the area below the right trapezius muscle feels like it's being stabbed with an awl," Lee explained.

The physician on the program speculated that a rare medical syndrome might be the culprit.
"It appears to be a rare disease that affects about 1% of the 51 million people in our country," the doctor explained.

In the studio, Lee's mother responded emotionally to the clip.
"Oh my, what's wrong with my son?" she exclaimed, her concern eliciting sympathy from viewers.

Since his 2020 breakup from actress Jo Yoon-hee, whom he wed in 2017 following co-starring in a drama, Lee has been living a comparatively low-key existence. The two share a child named Ro-a, with Jo awarded custody.

According to BiZ Chosun, Lee recently established a café in Aewol-eup, Jeju City, garnering public interest and long queues from day one. Although the commotion, some local traders complained about the situation as being thoughtless to the neighborhood.

Furthermore, as per Korea Joong Ang Daily, rumors of dating have revolved around Lee and actress Kang Hae-rim. The two were seen on several dates in Seoul's Gangnam area, complete with public affection displays. Lee's agency, however, refused to comment.

"It is their private life," the agency said.

After seeming to set out on a second life—with new business and nascent romance—Lee is now experiencing a health emergency.

Further information about what ails him will be forthcoming in the next episode of "My Little Old Boy," screening September 28 on SBS.
