Actor Joo Won may be starring in the Korean adaptation of popular Japanese drama and anime "Nodame Cantabile".

His agency Sim Entertainment announced on February 25 that they have received offers for a lead role in the adaptation, but they were careful to state that Joo Won is still reviewing the contract and nothing has been confirmed, "It's still too early to be talking about whether he'll appear or not, especially since we haven't received the synopsis or script yet."

Production company Group 8, which is known for its manga adaptations such as "Boys Over Flowers" and "Pretty Man," stated that the premiere will most likely be on the second half of the year.

"Nodame Cantabile" is an adaptation of the popular manga of the same name, and it is a story of friendship, love and music of college students majoring in classical music. Should Joo Won accept the role, he will be playing the character of Shinichi Chiaki, a hardworking and talented piano student who will learn to appreciate the art of conducting orchestra.

Singer-actress IU was rumoured to be playing the character of Noda Megumi or Nodame, a quirky but very talented pianist who will fall in love with Chiaki.

Joo Won is currently busy with his musical "Ghost" and filming for the movie "Fashion King".
