Sony Xperia Z2 Reviews: Sony's latest lead phone was announced few days ago, and now we have a UK price and release date. According to Cnet, the Xperia Z2 will touch down on 1 April, and will cost £544.98. SIM Free from Unlocked Mobiles is throwing in a few goodies as well. You'll get a free SRS-BTM8 speaker worth £79.99, noise-cancelling headphones worth £20, and "content" worth £100.

The Inquirer reported that the Sony Xperia Z2 was unveiled during Sony's MWC press conference on 24 February. Sony has yet to announce an official release date, but said that the Xperia Z2 will be available worldwide sometime in March in black, white and purple.

The Digital Trends described the Xperia Z2 first. The Full HD Triluminos (LCD) screen measures 5.2-inches, and uses the same Live Color LED technology introduced on the Xperia Tablet Z2, promising brighter more natural colors, and improved legibility in sunlight. Also taken from the tablet is Sony's noise cancelling technology, cutting out ambient noise by 98 percent provided you're using a compatible headset.

Qualcomm's new quad- core Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3GHz powers the Z2, and it's assisted by 3GB of RAM. A massive 3200mAh battery is stuffed inside the water and dust proof chassis, which measures 8.2mm thick. Sony's well-known for its premium build quality, and the Z2 has been crafted from aluminum and glass. A 20.7- megapixel camera using the Exmor RS sensor and Sony's G Lens setup is fitted to the back, and it can record 4K video.

The Inquirer furthermore describe the specifications and features of Xperia Z2. The report says that it measured just 8.2mm thick and the Xperia Z2 has a slightly slimmer design and a bigger 1080p 5.2in LED display compared to its predecessor, the 5in Xperia Z1.

However, the device's standout feature is its ability to record 4K video due to resolution four times that of full HD at 3840x2160, a feature not seen on previous Sony smartphones.

The Xperia Z2 has the same 20.7MP rear-facing camera as the Z1 but with improved 4K shooting capabilities.

Like the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z, the Xperia Z2 can be dunked in water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 metre, Sony claims, due to dust-resistant and waterproof IP55 and IP58 certification.

Sony claims that the Xperia Z2 has a slimmer and more comfortable feel over the Xperia Z1 due to its glass panels, which are encased in a single, solid aluminium frame with smoother edges.
