Final Fantasy XV News: Yusuke Naora Joins 'XV' Staff, Producer Yoshinori Kitase Leaves The Project For A New Game?

Here are some new udpdates in the development of Final Fantasy XV, and it's going to be a good news/bad news kind of scenario for Final Fantasy fans. The good news is a new staff member joins the game, but the bad news is one staff member leaves for another project.

Long-time Final Fantasy series artist Yusuke Naora joins the staff of Final Fantasy XV according to reports from Nova Crystallis website last March 20. The announcement was made during the Final Fantasy X/X-2 art exhibition event in California. Yusuke Naora is responsible for the art designs of previous titles such as Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy X. He is also part of the production for Final Fantasy Type-0, a video game that shares the same "Fabula Nova Crystallis" mythology as the 15th main instalment of the series. Naora is also speculated to work with other art designers Tomohiro Hasegawa and Takayuki Ohtachi.

As for Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase, he dropped out of Final Fantasy XV project and his reasons according to many sources that he is working on a new, separate project for Square Enix. Yoshinori Kitase is well known as one of the foundations of the Final Fantasy series. He is best known for his work in 1994's Final Fantasy VI. 1995's Chrono Trigger, 1997's Final Fantasy VII, 1999's Final Fantasy VIII, and 2001's Final Fantasy X. For this last game, he is also famous for having chosen a Southeast Asian backdrop, to expand the Final Fantasy universe from its traditional medieval backdrops. What new project will Kitase be working on?  We'll surely find out once he's ready to show it to the public.

Final Fantasy XV which originally named "Final Fantasy versus XIII" was announced as far back as 2006. The production took so long that Square Enix eventually decided to move the software product from PlayStation 3 to the newest consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

A release date for the game is still unknown, but fans will surely anticipate this new title once the game is finished and fully developed.
