Five Fun Facts About Seo Kang Joon
It's not just any young actor that can rival a veteran actor such as Joo Sang Wook. But that's what Seo Kang Joon does when he tries to win Lee Min Jung in the MBC comedy "Cunning Single Lady." Not bad for a rookie actor.
Besides the fact that he's off to a promising start, here are a few things you may not know about this young star.
1. For his next project he will play a free-spirited flower boy teacher at an art academy. The actor has taken that role in the film "My Love, My Bride," a remake of a 1990 movie of the same name. In that film his co-stars will be Shin Mina and Jo Jung Suk.
"It's my first movie, so I'm very nervous," said Seo Kang Joon. "It's an honor to be working with such great seniors and staff, and I'm learning a lot from A to Z."
2. Yoon Eun Hye felt sympathy for 20-year-old actor when they did a romantic pictorial in "High Cut" magazine. The 29-year-old actress remembered what it was like when she was a rookie and worried that he might feel uncomfortable around her, especially when they had to get so close and personal. So, she greeted him first to break the ice. It worked. The actors have a comfortable chemistry in the magazine's photos.
3. Seo Kang Joon has killer abs, which were revealed in a scene for "Cunning Single Lady." According to his agency Fantagio, the actor's abs are the result of vigorous workouts and a healthy diet. But the actor also likes to participate in physical activities for fun. He likes horseback riding, and playing tennis and golf.
4. He's the leader of a group of actors known as 5urprise. Launched by the Fantagio Entertainment Agency, the group will debut as actors and hope one day to branch out into music, commercials and variety shows. Together they debuted in the 2013 dramatoon, "After School Bokbulbok." The 15-minute episodes were viewed through smartphones and tablet PCs.
After that he had a cameo appearance in "Good Doctor," then played Choi Soo Hyuk, a talented musician with family problems in "The Suspicious Housekeeper." Next he had a role in "Drama Festival: Haneuljae's Murder."
5. He has some interesting roommates but only on television. On the SBS weekend variety show about celebrities living together, he will share a home with Park Min Woo, Shin Sung Woo, Hong Soo Hyun, After School's Nana and 2NE1's Park Bom. Also sharing the space are fighter Song Ga Yeon and comedian Jo Se Ho.
While he won't get the girl on "Cunning Single Lady," he does have two other fun projects lined up.
