iPhone 6 rumors are changing swiftly as Apple watchers eagerly await a confirmation on the release date for Apple's next flagship smartphone.

Suffice it to say, the iPhone 5S has been the most popular smartphone in the U.S. since its release in September last year.

Now, an announcement by U.S. retailer RadioShack quoting a $99 price tag on a 2 year contract (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) for the current flagship iPhone points to the validity of yet another rumor that the iPhone 6 will carry a spiked up price tag.

The discount price on the iPhone 5s is fantastic but it may also spur alacrity among potential iPhone 6 buyers. And this upcoming launch is something that everyone has been looking forward to since last September when the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were released. The iPhone 5c product has been unsatisfactory according to market statistics.

Amid news of the price cut for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 rumors have surfaced with a description of the iPhone 6 anticipated features. Unfortunately, a $100 add on to the suggested cost of the iPhone 6 is now a rumor that is likely to be true according to expert analysis.

The iPhone 6 price is a hot topic, with analysts predicting different decisions by Apple. Analyst Peter Misek thinks a $100 price jump for the iPhone 6, particularly since the brand new sapphire screen and a larger display screen warrant for a spike in price. There are also rumors of a shortage of sapphire manufactured in Apple's Mesa Arizona facility.

At any rate, the price jump would create a lower margin for the Cupertino tech firm. Misek’s comments are similar to those of Caso of Susquehanna Financial Group: “Apple could get away with a $50 to $100 premium for a larger screen size iPhone 6.″

"Nothing is set in stone but a possible price hike and a $100 discount from the iPhone 5s’ usual $199.99 price tag could be enough to drive some prospective buyers crazy. The rest of the iPhone 6 rumors won’t help either," reports GottaBeMobile
