By demanding an all black basketball league, Knicks executive and former player Larry Johnson is taking a very unique approach to the racist talk of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

Besides longing for a league of all black basketball players, Johnson wants the ownership to be totally black too.

"Black people your focusing on the wrong thing," tweeted the legendary Knicks player over the weekend. "We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!’’

This isn't the first time that Johnson had an idea like this. At the 1999 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs, Johnson, who is concerned with NBA ownership being mostly white, raised eyebrows when he said, "We’ve got a lot of rebellious slaves on this [Knicks] team.”

“I’ve got to explain that to you? We don’t go with the mainstream," continued Johnson when asked why he made such a comment about his teammates.

For two years Johnson has been a basketball and business operations representative for the Knicks, the  NY Post  reported. Once Phil Jackson comes in as president of the Knicks, who knows what Johnson's position will be.
