In terms of specs, a 5.5 inch 2K display, has been confirmed along with a 13MP OIS and rear camera.

The LG G3 is the next-gen flagship to its predecessor the G2, which is a touted handset adored by its users. Perhaps that may also be the reason why some users upgrade from the G2 to the G3.

The LG G3 comes after the releases of the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and the Sony Xperia Z2.  The G3 will be a takeoff on the present flaghsips in the market, and a model for developing the new Nexus 6. LG will make an effort to drive G3 sales, since G2 sales were mediocre. However, the G2 did  grab some noteworthy appeal by winning the Global Mobil Awards 2014 for Most innovative Device Manufacturer of the Year, ranking well on Digital Trends Editor's Choice 2013 and Gadget of the Year for 2013 Stuff Gadget Awards.

The LG G3 launch date  set for May 27 is for a debut event in London with two simultaneous satellite events in New York and San Francisco. Given the launch date in London, a store wide launch representing a LG G3 release date for online and retail sales would be in  late June or perhaps July.

The LG G3 is expected to be the 2K QHD display is one of the key features for the G3. The 2K display is touted to be one of the hottest features selling on the G3, since it will be the first-of-its-kind display that size ahead of the release of the highly anticipated iPhone 6.

One of the features on the G3 is the Gesture Palm Selfie, which suggests that the camera at the front will be activated when a gesture is made.

Without a contract, the LG G3 price on release date will be within the range of $600-$700. With the 2K display offering, the price tag on a carrier could go from $650-&700

Nixanbal, s Bulgarian tech blog reported speaking with sources close to the story saying the LG G3 will target a premium HTC One M8 style finish with less expensive materials.

LG has sent invitations to a G3 launch event, planned for 28 May. Adding to that, press events are scheduled in New York, San Francisco, and London and there will be other news events Singapore, Seoul and Istanbul.

LG's invitations read, "I'm writing to let you know that LG will be hosting an exciting event in London at the end of May to announce our next big global device after G2," adding, "with G2 getting its cooky points for its performance... we will be holding unveiling events in six global cities on May 27 and May 28,"

US network carrier Sprint revealed that "LG G3 will be outfitted with its own octa-core processor called 'Odin'. Ubergizmo leak above, suggest a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU. This would put the G3 level with rivals including the Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and Sony Xperia Z2."

LG G3 specs tipped by the latest reports include a 13-megapixel camera, which is exactly what its predecessor the G2 had, and a reworking of the company's rear-mounted controls, sporting smaller buttons adding an LED notification light within the centralized power button.
