Jennifer Lopez And Casper Smart Breakup Confirmed, ‘American Idol’ Judge Focuses On Career After Split, Report Says

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart breakup was confirmed. ABC News reported that the singer and her boyfriend of more than two years, Casper Smart, split nearly two months ago. The "American Idol" judge seemed focused on her career, earlier this week, she opened up about her new album, "A.K.A.," which will be released on June 17.

According to sources the 44-year- old- singer and her 27-year-old beau decided to go their separate ways a couple of months back, but an insider Told E! that J.Lo didn't call things off until two weeks ago.

Rumors suggest that Smart have been engaging in sending private provocative messages with a transgendered woman he met through Instagram, however, TMZ reported that had nothing to do with their break up.

"Whether there is any truth to what is being reported or not, it's irrelevant. Jennifer did not trust him. The relationship had not been right for a while. Smart was never going to be the love of her life, but he was fun and a nice guy to be around. It stopped being fun once his friendships with other people started to come to light," a source told E! Online.

Lopez and Smart began dating in 2011, shortly after her split from ex-husband Marc Anthony. Reportedly, Lopez said earlier this year that she didn't necessarily think that she and Smart were headed for marriage.

"In the past, love for me has always meant forever, and sure, you still nurse some of those fantasies, but I don't try to force it anymore. I hung on to my fairytale ideals for a long time. But where I am now, what I've been through, there are no rules. There are just lots of ways it can turn out," she said.

The two made their last public appearance at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on May 18.
