Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: Android 4.4 KitKat Upgrades Currently Rolling Out For U.S. Cellular And Sprint; R530UVXCND4 Build Software Available For Download
The long wait to upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat is over for Samsung Galaxy S3 users. Report says that both U.S. Cellular and Sprint revealed about the update in their software support pages.
According to Air Herald, the Galaxy S3 software of R530UVXCND4 build is available for download and installation. The users can initiate the update manually by choosing the About Device option from the General option in Settings menu. Then they will have to choose the Software Update option on their handsets. Before starting the installation process of the Android 4.4 update, the users should ensure that their devices have at least 50 percent battery charge. A full changelog is provided by the U.S. Cellular. This includes wireless printing capabilities, faster multitasking, a new Hangouts app, and updates to the interface.
The 4.4 KitKat update also includes enhancements like new sound controls, integrated location menus, easy access to camera on lock screen, and enhanced music access. The change log from Sprint also provides the users with the above mentioned enhancements. According to Samsung, only 14 Galaxy devices will receive the KitKat update. As of now, only Galaxy S3 models of Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Sprint have been updated to the latest KitKat version.
According to Gamer Headlines, update will continue to expand rapidly across the United States but not yet sure for the rest of the world. Vodafone Australia has just confirmed that the 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 (model number GT-I9305T) will definitely be getting 4.4 KitKat. The new version is still undergoing testing at Samsung, so the update is not ready to launch yet. This is the first official confirmation outside the United States, despite rumors from certain French and Canadian carriers circulating for some time now.
Reportedly, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) was dropped off from the Kitkat update list. This Galaxy S3 model has only 1GB RAM which is not sufficient for supporting the latest Android KitKat OS.
