In an effort to revolutionize their brand of Sports car, Porsche is making their move in converting a large quantity of petrol type vehicles into diesel with their new 2015 Porsche Macan. According to Porsche Automobile Club, a German forum exclusive for Porsche vehicles, the new powerhouse runs on a 335bhp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The diesel version of the vehicle gives drivers with an added boost of 10mpg. Porsche expects that the diesel version will cover 60% of Macan sales.

The main contrast between diesel and petrol is power and fuel efficiency. The diesel version provides the vehicle with 580Nm from only 1,500rpm, however the V6 can only give its maximum at 5,500rpm, but the vehicle can still produce a reasonable quantity of power.

Also, it is worth noting that the car operates perfectly in cruise mode. Drivers said that it felt smooth and the car gave them a 'gliding' experience thanks to the sleekness of the vehicle and its silent engine. The sports mode however, quickly changes the vehicle into a sports car.

The Porsche also reacts exceedingly well when making fast turns. Obviously it doesn't quite compete with the likes of sport cars such as the 911, however the control is outstanding for an SUV.

Overall the Porsche Macan S is a fantastic vehicle and thanks to the S Diesel having the same price tag as the petrol, it will pretty much certainly prove to be the more favourable out of the two considering it has more power and mpg to offer.
