Lucy Hale Singing Country Music On New Album ‘Road Between’; ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Star Says ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Audition Was ‘Uncomfortable’

Lucy Hale is singing country on her new album 'Road Between.'

Her 11-song debut album "Road Between" is filled with some great songs. Hale recently told Billboard magazine, "A lot of people don't know Lucy the person. They just know me from characters I played. I think after listening to the album, they'll have a clearer idea of the kind of girl I am. It's really real."

Before becoming a star on 'Pretty Little Liars,' Hale placed in the top 5 of an "American Idol" spin-off show called "American Juniors" at the age of 14.

The 'Pretty Little Liars' star was recently spotted in NYC, carrying an iced coffee while leaving Fox & Friends after a visit to chat about her new album on Tuesday July 1.

Hale stopped by MTV to chat about 'Road Between' and also talked about her 'uncomfortable' and 'awkward' audition for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

"Awkward," she said when asked how the audition went. "It was like a two-page monologue of dialogue of exactly what you would think it would be. Very uncomfortable. But it was sort of one of those things where you just had to go for it or you're just gonna look lame - hopefully, I didn't look lame."

Hale added, "It was unlike any audition I've ever done before in my life."

When asked what scene she auditioned with, the 'Road Between' singer said "I don't know if it was from another movie, but I think it was written just for this audition. Let's just say I don't want my grandmother watching this audition tape."

Hale is plenty busy with her new album and her television show, but unfortunately the  Pretty Little Liars star and her country singer boyfriend Joel Crouse have broken up after a few months of dating according to HollywoodLife.com.

"With it being so new and not seeing each other so much that made it not something worth saving," a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com. "They never gave each other a chance to fall in love."

"It was basically a fling," the source also added. "They hold no grudges on each other and just blame it on timing and distance and different career choices.
