Kim Hyun Joong Is Not Dating Bae Yong Joon

For someone who prefers to keep his relationships a secret, Kim Hyun Joong does a lot of talking about love and marriage.

Or maybe that is just the question people keep asking him. On the July 6 broadcast of MBC's "Section TV Entertainment News," he talked about his marriage plans yet again and why people might want to know his intentions. It may have something to do with his age.

 "Everyone asks me about my age and they go, 'Are you 25 years old already?' And when I tell them, 'I'm 29 years old,' they really get shocked," he said.

It's an age when many people think about tying the knot.

 "I don't have plans now," he said. "But I don't want to do it so late either."

In a previous interview with Newsen, he confessed that he has dated in secret and would never go public with a relationship. It would not be kind to expose the person he was dating to public scrutiny.

"I noticed that when people date publicly and break up, it's usually the woman who suffers for it," he said. If he were not planning to marry the person he would never go public out of respect for that person's life.

At this point, he can't really think about marriage because he is so focused on work. He guesses he will probably be over 35 when he does settle down. The longest he ever dated anyone was three years and that person was a non-celebrity.

At one point he was rumored to be dating Uee, his "Barefooted Friends" co-star, but he denied those rumors.

"It's not true at all," he told Newsen. "We were close during the filming, but I am not dating Uee like the rumors suggest."

Not dating publicly does have its downside. People start to imagine things. For example, there were recently even rumors about the time he spent on Jeju Island with actor and Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon.

Kim Hyun Joong told "Section TV Entertainment News that, "There were people saying, 'Aren't you two in a relationship?' We absolutely slept in different rooms."

The trip took place shortly after Bae Yong Joon denied rumors that he was marrying his current girlfriend, Go Soo Hee. It was also rumored that Bae traveled to Jeju Island to see her, but he said that he went to congratulate Kim Hyun Joong on the successful completion of the drama "Inspiring Generation." Once Bae denied he had gone to see his girlfriend, someone started rumors started about the two friends being in a relationship. But they are just friends.

"We talked about the future while having drinks and I listened to his advice on what to do and what not to do," said Kim Hyun Joong. "We had fun hanging out, we were on the same wavelength."

The actor's latest mini album is called "Timing."
