There are more than 120,000 movie and TV fans, cosplayers, and industry types who are expected to attend the popular convetion for comic book, TV, and movie giveaways and exclusives, and a chance to hobnob with their favorite stars and directors.

As in the previous years, Comic-Con exclusives are eagerly awaited. Studios use this convention to preview footage for their more comic-book or superhero related offerings, and even bringing in the biggest movie stars to promote these.

Some of the initial Comic-Con dates and schedules seen below are the highlights of the event, and remain tentative but will be updated as the convention draws nearer and nearer.

On July 23, which is dubbed Preview Night, a screening of the film Into The Storm will be held at the Gas Light Theatre at 10 p.m. The New Line Cinema production is about high school students who record the events and effects of a ravaging tornado. A group of high school students document the events and aftermath of a devastating tornado.

At 1:30pm, The Giver will take over Hall H, with stars Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites and Odeya Rush all in attendance, along with director Phillip Noyce, and the author herself, Los Lowry. New footage of the film is expected to be screened.

Paramount will move into Hall H at 3 pm, and while no official announcement has been made, some Interstellar (the much-awaited sci-fi film by Christopher Nolan) news, updates or surprises are eagerly anticipated

Meanwhile, on Friday, July 25, 3pm, the Horns movie panel will include director Alexander Aja, author Joe Hill, and Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, to talk about the adaptation of the fantasy book.

Come 4:30 pm on the same day, Fox will be at the helm of Hall H, to present The Maze Runner, The Book of Life, Let's Be Cops, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Hitman: Agent 47 featuring a star-studded line-up that includes Channing Tatum, director Guillermo del Toro, Colin Firth, and Samuel L.
